Drink & Draw – Drawing & Storytelling Edition is an open and cosy evening that shows you how to use photography, drawing and the power of association to find new inspiration and create endless new stories (visual or written). It’s an immersive drawing night that invites you to ignite your imagination and find your artistic voice. The evening begins with dynamic exercises using photography to inspire fresh ideas and stories. Then, we’ll move on to drawing exercises that bring these ideas to life on paper. The techniques you’ll learn are perfect for all skill levels—from beginners to more advanced artists. Whether you’re struggling with a creative block or want to move beyond photo references to finding your own artistic style, this workshop will help guide you on your journey. Throughout the night, there will be plenty of time to chat, draw, and exchange tips and techniques in a relaxed and welcoming environment. It’s a great space for creativity, whether you attend alone or bring a creative friend.
The workshop is hosted by artist and teacher Ailisha Shannon, who has been teaching drawing since 2009. Ailisha specializes in visual storytelling and mark-making and has taught at art institutions like HKU, Nieuwe Institute, and TU Delft. You’ll be in good hands as Ailisha leads you through the exercises and provides personalized feedback.Come shake off the winter chill and join us for a warm, inspiring evening of drawing and storytelling. Whether you’re looking to explore new creative techniques or simply have fun drawing, this workshop is for everyone who enjoys making art in a social and welcoming environment.
All materials are provided by the teacher, so all you need to do is bring yourself. You are, however, welcome to bring any favourite materials with you.
