Drawing & Storytelling - OPEN

About

Drawing & Storytelling is an 8-week online drawing course for everyone that wants to learn how to create drawings and illustrations that tell a visual story.

The focus of Drawing & Storytelling is on storytelling, drawing techniques, and experimentation. This course will help you shake off perfectionism and discover your own personal style. It’s the perfect place to (re)connect with your creativity and what inspires you, all while sharing your journey with a group of like-minded individuals from all over the world. Class Level

All levels are very welcome to apply to this class. Though some basic drawing skills are a plus. The focus of Drawing & Storytelling is on storytelling, drawing techniques, and experimentation.

Classes are taught with group assignments that offer ample space for individual attention, tips, and personal style, making it ideal for all different levels. Classes are divided into two eight-week courses: part 1 and part two. However, many students choose to stay on longer. Fun fact: some students have stayed on for as long as 5 years!

How we teach

This course offers a social, interactive, and open online creative space. All courses are taught live on Zoom, with the teacher and all students present and engaging with each other.

During classes, the teacher uses two cameras simultaneously: one focused on her face and one focused on a closeup of a drawing pad. This way, you get a clear picture of the teacher, and your class whilst also enjoying an excellent view of everything that is being taught.

All classes start with an introduction to a group assignment, supported with tips, techniques and time for any questions. After this, you have loads of space to work on your assignment, asking questions and seeing what others are sharing in between. At the end of class, we always take a little moment to catch up on each other’s work, sharing findings, challenges and wins. If you get stuck or have a question you can simply take a quick picture of your drawing with your phone and share it in the class Whatsapp group, so the teacher can help you exactly where you are at. This course is known for its open, supportive and interactive vibe. It’s a creative space where absolutely everyone is welcome and can feel comfortable.
